MY FIRST JOHN DEERE TRACTOR
1946 "B"
This tractor was bought on Mother's Day 1998,at a consignment auction, It's the workhorse
on my 13 acre hobby farm, and now is used daily at my new home in St.Clair,Mi.
MY CURRENT PROJECT
1938 "B" UNSTYLED
This is the photo the day I bought it.The orignal owner sold the rusty but running and complete tractor to an old guy,He started
tearing it down and left it as seen here for a few years.
IN THE BARN
This is in the barn, starting at the front, using a grinder with knotted wire cup brush. Priming and a colorcoat of paint
as I worked towards the back.
BEFORE PAINT
AFTER PAINT
After hours of work, many spent on my back working on the underside,I emerged looking like a coal miner. The reward is
seeing it look like it rolled off the line.
CAN YOU SPELL TRACTION?
This tractor spent many hours working the sandy fields in N.W. Michigan. The old girl still has it's factory spokers and 2
sets of extension rims.
